East Medford Dental Clinic campaign

You can help La Clinica address a significant and escalating need for affordable dental care in our community.

Our East Medford Dental Clinic opened in March 2012 in 18,000 square feet of renovated space at 1113 Progress Drive, near the corner of Progress and Biddle Road. This expansion ultimately will allow us to meet a pressing healthcare need in Jackson County.

More than 96,000 people in Jackson County, nearly half of all residents, lack dental insurance or have insurance that is not readily acceptable or that limits care. Uninsured and low-income patients seek care in expensive ER settings when dental pain and infection becomes unbearable. In 2012, La Clinica served 6,778 dental patients, about 7 percent of the need.

An economic analysis of this project prepared by Medford-based consulting firm REMI Northwest found that our dental-services expansion will result in a savings of nearly $32 million in the region in the coming two decades. Most of that, about $25 million, would result from hospital emergency department savings, because fewer patients would seek emergency dental care. The consulting firm said the region could expect about $6.7 million in savings in increased worker productivity.

La Clinica received a federal grant of $2.965 million to cover most of the cost of the $4.4 million East Medford Dental Clinic and has received support from the Meyer Memorial Trust, the MJ Murdock Trust,  the Collins Foundation, the Oregon Community Foundation, and the Carpenter Foundation, as well as in-kind and other donations.

We have raised $4.3 million of our goal and need your help to complete this very important workPlease view our video below for more information. For further details or to tour the new site, contact Maria Underwood via email.
