Yula Mata, MS
Yula Mata, MS was born and raised in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology and specialization in Family Therapy from the Guanajuato University in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico. She earned as well a Master’s degree in Social Science and a Master’s degree in Applied Psychology from Southern Oregon University and was the recipient of the Guanajuato International Award for outstanding achievement and service.
Yula Mata M.S. is certified by the Consejo Mexicano de Terapia Familiar in Mexico, City. She is currently registered as Board Intern with the Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists in Oregon. She joined the staff of La Clinica in 2005 after working at the JCMHD and the ARC and was working for several years in a psychiatric hospital, private practice and as a faculty member in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico. Yula Mata has as well teaching experience with the youth programs and college at Southern Oregon University; is bilingual and bicultural.
She enjoys supporting campaigns towards ending violence against women and children; she co-directed the first Vagina Monologues Spanish language production in the Rogue Valley. She as well enjoys dancing, biking, skiing and scuba diving.
