Hillary Handelsman
Hillary Handelsman

Hillary Handelsman, certified nurse midwife and women’s health nurse practitioner, is a graduate of the University of California San Francisco School of Nursing.  A member of the La Clinica team since 2008, Hillary brings to the practice her passion for empowering women and providing families the birth experience they desire.

Before completing her graduate studies at UCSF, Hillary wore many hats—director of a large inner-city children’s program, international volunteer, and gymnastics / dance instructor. She lived several years in the Philippines, Thailand, India, and Kenya, providing medical care for underserved women and children as a community health worker and then as a lay midwife.  She intends one day to live in a developing country, establishing a midwifery training school.

When not delivering babies or taking care of women’s health, Hillary can be found spending quality time with friends, creating something beautiful, watching a good movie, exploring new places, or seeking out the next great adventure.
