Mimi Choate is a family physician at La Clinica’s Family and Women’s Health Center.
A graduate of the School of Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, she also holds an undergraduate degree in biology from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She completed a residency program in Fort Collins, Colorado, and joined La Clinica’s staff in 2012.
She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Public Health Association, and the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine. She has presented on patient-centered medical homes in community health centers and residency settings at Society of Teachers of Family Medicine conferences.
A native of Decatur, Georgia, Dr. Choate lives in Ashland with her husband, James, and daughter, Hannah. She enjoys gardening, cycling, hiking, cooking, reading, and mothering. She is bilingual in Spanish.
“I have always wanted to move back to Oregon and work in a community health setting,” she said. “I love delivering babies and speaking Spanish with my patients.”
