
Amanda Rae Maitland is a certified nurse midwife at the La Clinica Women’s Health Center. She joined the team in November 2019.
She previously worked as a nurse midwife in the California’s Central Valley. She also has worked as a registered nurse in a long-term care facility, a certified nursing assistant, a ski instructor, a barista, and a nanny.
Amanda has a master’s degree in nursing-midwifery from University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Columbia University in New York. She also has a bachelor’s degree in human physiology from University of Oregon. She is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board and a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives.
Originally from New Mexico, Amanda lives in Ashland. She enjoys skiing, hiking with her dog, road tripping in her VW camper van, and practicing yoga.
Amanda was drawn to La Clinica’s focus on providing holistic health care to a diverse population. She works to guide patients to take charge of their health and be participants in and not recipients of their care.
