Carol Adams is a mental health therapist serving school-based health centers in the Phoenix-Talent School District. She joined the La Clinica team in September 2020.
A licensed clinical social worker, she has worked in schools throughout her career. She most recently worked as a counselor with Family Solutions at Orchard Hill Elementary School. She also worked as a school social worker in special education in Iowa and taught preschool and social skills lessons in the Caribbean island nation of St. Kitts.
Carol earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work at Michigan State University. Originally from Michigan, she lives in Phoenix. She is the mother of three adult sons who all live in the Rogue Valley. She enjoys quilting, scrapbooking, cooking, and walking with her golden retriever, Brooke.
In the roughly 20 years she has lived and worked in Southern Oregon, she admired La Clinica’s dedication to health care for everyone in the community. Members of her own family have turned to La Clinica for excellent and affordable care.
She is happy to be part of La Clinica’s school-based health center team supporting children and families.
“Children and their families want to resolve their concerns,” she said. “It is a joy to guide them in the problem-solving process and see them meet goals of improving social and emotional health.”
