Darcy Kleiman is a family nurse practitioner who joined La Clinica’s staff in 2017. She practices at La Clinica Wellness Center.
She believes in approaching medicine from a wellness model with an emphasis on prevention. “I am drawn toward integrative approaches and strive to build on these concepts within my practice,” she said.
Before she joined La Clinica, Darcy worked as a nurse for Rogue Regional Medical Center and Asante Ashland Home Health and Hospice. She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the Ashland campus of Oregon Health and Science University and returned to school to earn a master’s degree in nursing from Graceland University in Missouri.
She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Oregon Nurses Association.
A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Darcy lives in Talent with her husband, also a nurse, and son, and “we love calling this amazing place home!” she says.
“I love spending long hours running on our beautiful trails with dog in tow. We also do a lot of hiking as a family and are instilling the importance of getting outside, health, and wellness in our son.”
She was drawn to La Clinica because of its role in community health.
“Having spent many hours as both an RN and student in the valley, it became obvious that there is a need for community health and advocacy for those who don’t have a voice or are feeling dismissed by the healthcare system,” she said. “La Clinica is doing amazing work in the field of community health, and that’s something I want to be part of.”
