Certified Nurse Midwife Ireli Hernandez joined the team at Women’s Health Center in March 2020.
She first connected with La Clinica and her interest in women’s health while working as a medical assistant at La Clinica in 2013 as she was studying nursing at Southern Oregon University. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from SOU and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the Oregon Health & Science University program on the Ashland campus. She continued her education at OHSU’s Portland campus, earning a master’s degree in nurse midwifery and a doctor of nursing practice degree. She is a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives.
Originally from Michoacan, Mexico, Ireli now lives in Medford with her partner Todd, two children, and a French bulldog. She enjoys outdoor activities, spending time with family, and cheering on her son’s soccer team, which combines both those things.
“Having grown up in the Rogue Valley, I am delighted to serve this community,” she said. “I speak fluent Spanish and love interacting and connecting with patients on an individualized level. I am regularly humbled by the resilience of the women and families I meet. My goal is to support families and empower women to be decision makers of their medical care.”
