Billy Haden is a mental health therapist serving students through La Clinica’s school-based health centers. He joined La Clinica in September 2020.
Before coming to La Clinica, he worked 15 years as a social worker in Southern Oregon. He worked with the Veterans Health Administration and the Oregon Military Department serving both current members of the military and veterans. He was drawn to La Clinica’s school-based health centers to work with youth and help them gain valuable life skills to help them better navigate the demands of a complex modern world.
“My goal is to provide a safe space for my patients to explore, learn, and practice strategies to help live a healthy life, however they define it,” he says.
Billy has a master’s degree in social work from Portland State University and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Southern Oregon University. He is a licensed clinical social worker and certified by the American Board of Clinical Social Work.
He was born in Medford and has lived in Southern Oregon for his entire life, except for the four years he spent on active duty in the US Navy. He is still serving in the military as a behavioral health officer for the Oregon National Guard. He has been married for more than two decades and has three children. He and his family love doing things outdoors, including skiing Mt. Ashland when there’s snow, taking their motorhome to the coast for the weekend, and camping, fishing, and boating whenever they can.
