What is a virtual medical or mental health visit? For most kinds of visits, we can schedule you to talk with a medical provider or mental health specialist by video. Phone visits are available as an alternative.
How do virtual visits work? You sign into a private online service using information our team provides. Once your provider joins as well, you can talk just as though you were in the same room.
What equipment do I need to make this work? You need a computer, tablet, or phone with an internet connection, microphone, and camera.
I’m not very good with computers. Is it hard? Most patients find this system easy to use. When it’s almost time for your appointment, we’ll send you a link to sign in. Our staff will join you and start your appointment.
What if I have technical trouble? Our care team members are happy to help if you have technical issues.
How is this kind of visit different from an in-person visit? Virtual visits don’t work when the doctor needs to touch you, but in most other cases they are a good substitute for in-person care.
Is there a difference in cost for a virtual visit? These visits are covered by insurance in the same way in-person visits are covered. You’ll pay your usual co-pay if you have one. The cost is the same as for an in-person visit.
Why is this type of visit important to consider? We are working to serve our patients’ needs while also slowing the spread of COVID-19. Limiting patient and staff time in our health centers is one way we can reduce the risk of exposure for everyone.
What if I need a prescription after my visit? How is that handled? We welcome you to fill your prescriptions as you always do. If you choose to fill them at a La Clinica Community Pharmacy and live in Central Point, Medford, or Phoenix, we can deliver your medication to your home. Deliveries take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
