Garrett Sonntag is a physician assistant who is part of La Clinica’s Advanced Practitioner Residency Program. He sees patients at Phoenix Health Center while gaining advanced training.
Garrett earned his bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. He earned his master’s degree in physician assistant studies at University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio. He is board certified with The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and he is a National Health Service Corps scholar.
He was drawn to La Clinica by the opportunity to grow and learn in the residency program while serving patients in need of care.
“I am honored to be able to contribute to providing excellent and affordable health care, especially to those who are in greatest need,” he said.
Originally from Akron, Ohio, Garrett now lives in Gold Hill. He made the cross-country trip in the summer of 2023 with his two pit bulls. He enjoys spending time with his dogs, doing home-improvement projects, and traveling internationally with a focus on sustainable and ethical volunteering.
