Meeting a critical need
Making care accessible to all is at the heart of our Mobile Health Center services. For some, barriers to accessing health care can be too high. Since 2012, we have been bringing services directly to our community’s most vulnerable to impact lives for the better. Care through our mobile center can be the only time some people receive important wellness services. It can open doors to other life-changing support. It can come at an unexpected time of need--for example, during a pandemic, after a fire, or as part of another emergency. As southern Oregon’s only mobile health center, and open to anyone, this resource can deploy quickly and provide critical health services when and where it is needed most. With your support, we’ll be able to continue providing this valuable resource to our community.
A story from our team
The mobile center team serves people with many varied stories. One, Ted, shared that the mobile center reconnected him with health care. "The mobile La Clinica van is the first personal visit I have had with healthcare professionals in 25 years. I now have OHP (the Oregon Health Plan), which I have never before had as a Oregon resident for 40 years. I am Internet illiterate, had no phone to correspond, and was confused amidst homelessness. I now have an assigned doctor, dental, and chiropractic referrals. I will have knee surgery in one week, none of which would have been so simple if not for them.”
Your support will help sustain and grow this valuable resource within our community.
