
Helena Elam is a mental health therapist at La Clinica’s school-based health center at Washington Elementary in Medford. She has been a mental health therapist in the Rogue Valley since 2007 at agencies including Jackson County Mental Health, Jackson County Juvenile Detention Facility, and Care and Counseling Center of Southern Oregon.
Originally from Nantucket, Massachusetts, she earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology at Southern Oregon University and a master’s degree in professional counseling with coursework in school counseling at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri.
She has two children and her husband is a teacher in the Medford School District. She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and baking, tennis, and outdoor activities.
“I believe in an individual’s infinite ability to change and that my role as a professional counselor is to support and empower my clients in the process of growth,” she said.
